The Late Great January List of Randomness

Yep, one of my resolutions was to blog once a month.  I obviously missed my first blog by three days.  With that, below is the list of WTFs, Oh okay...I get its that crossed my random world for the first 31 days in 2011:

1.  There is an upcharge for 3D movies in the Chicagoland movie theaters.  I don't know if the rest of the country is experiencing this, but to take a family of four to the theater (two of them children ages 8 and 6) cost $48. We were attempting to see Yogi Bear.  I asked if there was a "regular" version of the movie, and the response was, "No, but we have other movies that are not in 3D."  I asked for the list of suggestions: "Black Swan and The Fighter..."  Um Sir, both of those movies are Rated R...again 8 and 6 year olds with me.  "Oh, yeah.  So we do have Tangled and Gulliver's Travels."  Both of those started in an hour and a half from the time we arrived.  I took my smile down to Wally World, and for $35 I bought 3 movies, two frozen pizzas and popcorn.

2.  My New Year's Resolution consisted of a to-do list that required some "monthly" items.  Read a book a month, blog once a month and write a song a month.  HA!  I am so far behind schedule that I have to apologize to myself for being lazy!

3.  The end of a contract is always a bitter-sweet deal, particularly when it is a love/hate relationship.  I have learned a lot working with non-profits, specifically with human capital.  I have learned where I excel and my limitations.  The fact is, I am NOT the social services type of person.  Waaaay too much responsibility for other people's lives.  I commend those who have commited and dedicated their lives to creating a positive source of living for those less fortunate.  You are doing our country a great service.  But let's be honest, if NPs understood that they were in the business to put themselves out of business, we would have a better world.  That's just my thought.  I am going back to Experiential Marketing...it's what I do, well!

4.  My musical endeavors have left a lot to be desired.  I purchased a guitar in 2007; four years later I have only learned three cords.  I suck!  This, too is one of the 2011 bucket list items.  Moving on....

5.  Don't argue with your neighbors after being confined to your home during a blizzard.  It's like talking to drunk people...oh wait, they were drunk.  Long story short, there is a pick up truck stuck in the middle of our unplowed block.  Guy tries to get out, almost hits my car, cousin's car, sister's car, mom's car and bro-in-law's car.   I have it all on video, but due to a few profane words, I refuse to post it.  Tomfoolery!

So that's the long and skinny of my first 31 days.  Very funny, full of foolery, however the best so far!  I can't do anything but keep a smile on my smile, laugh as I go and say, oh okay, I get it...
